Burton and Garran Hall (B&G) is an on-campus residence for students of the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. It houses approximately 515 undergraduate students. As a self-catered hall, B&G has all the facilities students require and dedicated staff ensuring the well-being of students.
Values and Ethos
B&G values the diversity and challenges of communal academic living. We recognise we are an important part of the broader academic endeavour of the Australian National University and seek to offer all residents the opportunity to test and reach their full academic and social potential through the provision of a safe and supportive living and study environment.
All residents receive their own private bedroom, a home away from home. More information on what the room contains can be found here.
B&G also has shared facilities including a kitchen, laundry, lounge, canteen, games room and bathrooms.
To ensure residents are safe and enjoy all that campus life has to offer, B&G has a number of services. Senior Residents are always on-call to handle a wide variety of situations, and the Burton and Garran Hall Member’s Association (BAGMA) holds regular events to enrich students’ social, academic and recreational lives. The dedicated Academic Team is also available to give feedback and tips on students’ studies, and the Transport Team provides weekly shopping trips on the B&G bus. There is also a canteen, Spiderbites, which provides a social setting for residents and food when they have no time to cook.
