If you are leaving B&G for good you are eligible to receive your refundable deposit of $300 back. This is subject to any fees or outstanding charges on your account.
This section gives you all the information you need to get your bond back and how long it will take.
Below is the bond refund form. Any resident leaving B&G for good ie not deferred or going home for summer, will need to hand this in along with the Cleaning Checklist upon check out.
Your refund will take approximately 4 – 6 weeks to reach you so please be patient.
When completing the form please keep in mind that options 1 and 2 are the fastest options and option 3 may cause slight delays depending on postage.
Ensuring that the form is completed properly and that your bank account details or home address details are accurate and up to date will allow B&G staff to process your refund faster (ie check that B&G has your bank account details if you aren’t sure and check that your home address in ISIS is up to date). Also making sure that your room is clean and all points on the cleaning checklist have been addressed will expedite the process.
There are three different ways in which you can receive your bond refund.
- As a deposit into the Australian account currently being used to deduct your fortnightly rent from. This is NOT the account from which your acceptance fees were paid from, it is your Australian account that you gave us when you submitted your direct debit details.
- As a deposit into a newly nominated Australian account. For this option you can provide account details of your parents, a friend or an alternate account of your own. This must also be an Australian bank account and there is space on the form for you to provide this information.
- As an International bank draft posted to your home address. This bank draft is similar to a cheque and can be made in either USD, Euro’s or GBP, once you receive it you can then deposit it into a bank account in your home country. If you select this option you MUST UPDATE YOUR HOME ADDRESS IN THE ISIS SYSTEM as this is where it will be sent.
Option 1 & 2 are the fastest options but we ask that you allow 4 – 6 weeks from your departure date for these funds to reach you.
Please note that if you are leaving early and further payments are still due, the 4 – 6 weeks commences from the last applicable payment date, not your departure date.
For example – your contract concludes on 28th June and you leave on 10th June because your exam period is over. There is still a payment scheduled for 19th June so we will wait for this payment to clear and your refund would be processed around 24th June. To avoid this delay, you can ensure that you pay out the remainder of your contract before you leave B&G and then it will be processed as soon as you leave.
